Many people dont realise what wonderful pets rats are.. they are not what people believe from reading books or watching tv and movies..

Rats are very loving, clean, intelligent animals, who can be litter trained like a cat, and can be taught tricks like a dog, they will even come when you call their name.

Rats love to groom people and cuddle up to their owners. They are so loving.

There are a number of different types of domestic rats in Australia, unfortunately many overseas types that people love are not available here as we can not bring rats into Australia.

Rats should live in same sex pairs though and 2 rats are much more fun than one.

I love my rats and have basically every type available in Australia.

I agree, rats make the best pets ever!!! Since i got my first girls i have had about 5 months with out any rats and that 5 months just felt really strange not having them around. I don't think ill be doing that again in a hurry.

I think rats because of their loving and intelligent natures make really good therepy pets for people with depression or anxiety issues or other health issues..

Yeah i agree there, how can not smile when you go to the cage and see their little faces begging you for a cuddle.
